Cleveland Water Alliance is pioneering the Smart Lake Erie Watershed Initiative, connecting advanced sensors throughout Lake Erie to enhance water quality monitoring. With support from the state of Ohio, this network will utilize low-power radio signals to distribute data via the internet, creating a regional "Wi-Fi" for devices. This innovative approach, involving partners like Ed Verhamme of LimnoTech and Freeboard Technology, aims to extend the reach of Smart Buoys, providing vital information for boating, fishing, and water safety to all who cherish and rely on this precious Great Lake.
