The Large Lakes Observatory is an academic and research unit within the Swenson College of Science and Engineering at the University of Minnesota Duluth, and is the only university research group and only institute in the country dedicated to studying the large lakes of Earth. LLO achieves this through performing innovative, cross-disciplinary research, education, and outreach that advance scientific understanding for the benefit of society and the sustainability of freshwaters.
