Aaron Klein, PE, is the Engineering Services Manager for Avon Lake Regional Water. In addition to serving as a civil and environmental engineer for over 25 years, he currently oversees all engineering projects and staff at a sewer and water utility on the north shore of Lake Erie. The organization operates a 50 MGD water filtration plant that supplies potable drinking water to approximately 212,000 people in multiple counties through 139 miles of water line. ALRW also provides sewer collection to multiple jurisdictions via 191 miles of sewer mains prior to treatment at a 6.5 MGD water reclamation facility.
As Public Works Director in Sandusky for over 12 years, Aaron has managed coastal wetlands projects that aim to improve water quality, reduce nutrient loadings, and restore wildlife habitat throughout Sandusky Bay, along with having managed Sandusky’s engineering department, Water Pollution Control Plant, Big Island Water Works, green infrastructure program, forestry department, and combined sewer overflow plans.
