

Miguel is a dynamic, results-driven, innovative leader with over two decades of success developing and commercializing products, services, and software solutions for municipal water and wastewater, environmental monitoring, water analysis, and industrial water sectors. He is recognized for his charismatic, adaptive leadership style. He has a proven track record in new product development, strategic marketing, and expertly guiding cross-functional teams through increasingly complex technical and commercial challenges.
Currently, he is the Director of Commercial Development at In-Situ Inc., a premier provider in the environmental monitoring industry. The company’s solutions portfolio includes specialized level sensors for groundwater monitoring and aquifer characterization, multi-parameter water quality sondes for surface and coastal water quality monitoring, and continuous monitoring nutrient analyzers used for process control in BNR wastewater treatment plants.
Miguel is responsible for developing and commercializing new solutions by combining existing products, new product launches, and technology partners. He solves challenging municipal and industrial water treatment applications by leveraging In-Situ’s product portfolio, product innovation, third-party expertise, and talent acquisition to meet the industry’s most pressing problems. Currently, his focus is on addressing challenges in monitoring produced water from the oil and gas industry, its treatment, and its beneficial reuse in water-stressed regions.
His diverse background includes leadership roles, including serving as Director of Commercial Development at Shield T3 Health (a University of Illinois start-up), where he developed and implemented epidemiological surveillance solutions. Throughout a distinguished 20-year tenure at Hach Company, he excelled as an Innovation Strategist and Senior Product Innovations Manager. He was part of many new product development projects, including the development and launch of automatic wastewater samplers, open-channel flow meters, portable water-quality devices, and data management software. He also developed and implemented strategic product roadmaps for process and laboratory instrumentation, digital transformation strategies, and established partnerships with 3rd-party solution providers to complement Hach’s product portfolio.
